Default Jeff Buckley's "Grace" vs. Legacy edition

I'm just about to purchase Jeff Buckley's Grace cd but can't decide between the original 1994 version or the new 2004 Legacy edition remaster. I want the one that sounds better and I found mixed reviews on the Amazon reviews, so not sure.

Can anybody here offer any first hand experience about this?

I've been meaning to get that. Thanks for the reminder. According to this:

the 1994 edition is the way to go. Click on the "i" button and it says the 2004 legacy edition has massive clipping throughout.

That's interesting because I definitely prefer the Legacy Edition. Plus you get the bonus disk and the dvd.

Welp, I already bought the original version.

Besides the dvd, how is the sound different?

I agree that the Legacy sounds louder, but I didn't notice any distortion. I really haven't sat down and done studious comparisons but for some reason I always grab the Legacy edition when I play the record. I really like that record, too ... a lot. I think they both sound good.

I've listened to it a couple times now and it didn't strike a chord in me. Often times I'll listen to a cd for the first time and like it and others need a few listens before I'll like it, so that might be the case. This might be a good sign because often times cd's that take time to appreciate become my favorites. Songs that I like instantly often times I'll lose interest in and they don't sustain me.

I also have Jeff Beck's new cd Emotion and Commotion, and there are several songs that Beck redid that are also on the Grace cd. So far I like Beck's versions better :) Time will tell though. Buckley has a very unique voice that I'm still adjusting to.

I'll have to check out the Emotion and Commotion CD. I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that I don't own any Jeff Beck music. As someone who loves guitars and guitar music, that's a bit odd.

Dude you're gonna love it. Definitely put Emotion and Commotion on your short list!

No Jeff Beck... shame on you ;)
