Default Any Flight Simulator X pilots here?

Just thought I'd start a thread on something I enjoy as much as audio. If there are any fans, I thought we could have some FSX discussion here (aircrafts, add-ons, weather, flying techniques, etc).

I enjoy flying commercial jets the most and just starting to get into props for slower, low altitude flights so I can enjoy the scenery.

I also make FSX take-off videos that I post on youtube with different airlines and aircrafts.

So who's flying the virtual skies here?

I enjoy flight simulators. One of the few video games I enjoy. Certainly not an "expert" at it. I haven't played in a while because my Flight Simulator X install was on my hard drive that I replaced. I have yet to re-install it onto my new hard drive.

I had installed a lot of add on aircraft (F-14, F-15, F-22, SR-71). As you can see, I enjoy fighter jets/high speed aircraft. One thing I found many times with flying high speed small aircraft is you have to be very careful how many G's you put onto the aircraft, or you will rip the plane apart!

I enjoy flying in multiple types of weather. One of my favorites is in thunderstorms. They can be challenging (especially when landing!) as the crosswinds can get you! They are also fun to fly through and look spectacualr. Blizzards are also challenging with the wind and visual impairment they create.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. I'm no expert also. Been into fsx for just over a year now. I"ve yet to put much time into fighter jets. I need to buy a joystick first. It feels odd for me to use my yoke on fighter jets and Airbus planes.
I flew the Blue Angels jet (one of the default planes) but turned aircraft damage off. I had no idea you can rip them apart lol.

I enjoy flying in thunderstorms too but mess up a lot of my landings lol. It's fun getting thrown around up there and it makes everything so much more challenging.
I'm currently using Active Sky 2012 for real time weather. I really like this add on because it does such a great job on creating realistic visibility layers.

Hope you get your rig up and running again. You might want to check out the free ENB add on. It does light bloom without the negative effects of the in-game bloom.

Since you're really into fighters, I found this video you might enjoy...

Haven't used my copy in a while, but used it to knock some rust off of my real piloting skills a few years ago. I earned my pilot certificate in the early 90's and took a break from it for a few years. Bought a control wheel with throttle quadrant and a set of rudder pedals and found the simulation to be very good. I've been in 'real' flight simulators over the years and other than the motion, the PC version was as good. I've got real time in C152's, 172's, 182's, Piper Warriors, Six's, Beech D-18's, Queen Aire, King Air, Twin Otters, Casa 212's, DC-3 and others. The PC version is better than I expected it to be, and a LOT cheaper!
