    Default Noob needs advise

    So far I have a
    Denon 1312 A/V Receiver
    CSi A6 Center

Space is an issuse so the smaller the better.

    I am thinking
    R150 front speakers
    RM8 rear speakers
    DWS 500 subwoofer

Will this work fine or be a total disaster? I'm no audio snob so it doesn't have to win any awards.

    90% Home Theater 10% Music
    17' x 13' room.

    Thanks!

Since you already have the CSiA6 I think you mains would be better using RTiA1 or 3. Dont know the rears or sub and would not worry about rears to much but I would go with a great sub or you will be wishing you more bass/LFE.

+1 Go with the matching for the center, RTiA1's will be a nice setup with that center. Look at the PSW505's, or something along the lines of a BIC f12 subwoofer.

    Default Thanks!

Thanks for the advise! That totally sucks though. Unfortunetly I do not have the room for those huge bookshelf speakers. My next option is to try and see if I can convince my wife to let me get the RTi A5.
If that doesn't work I might need to sell the CSi A6 and get something that will match smaller bookshelf speakers.

    Thanks again!!

The RTi4 bookshelf can be found at good prices and would work well with your center, but that one might be too big too... look into it.

Your other option might be to sell the center and look into the TL350 setup. Never heard it but it has a small footprint and has good reviews so far. Might be your best bet with your space constraints.

If the RTi4 will work, I assume the RTi8 will also work. Oddly enough, even though I can't fit such big bookshelf speakers, I might be able to fit the tower speakers. However the A5 is way too much, but the RTi8 has become much more affordable.

    Thanks!

If space is that tight, why don't you look into getting the Blackstone TL3 series, those along with your DSW 500 sub & you will have a great little system.

Get a SurroundBar and a sub.

If you go soundbar do yourself a favor and get one of the CHT models. (Either 500 CHT or 400 CHT) And a PSW505. Skip the wireless surround bar subs.

Edit: that is not to say the others are bad, because they are quite good (I have used the SB 6000), but the CHT was just even better.

You have room. You just need to work up the guts to tell the wife that the decorations have to go.
