    Default are they ever negative

I was cruising C/L for a change and came across some Theil cs-2s speakers for $700.They did look like they were in amazing condition but out of price range for now. For curiosities sake I looked for a review from Stereophile Magazine and they had pretty much rave reviews for the set and the co. in general. Now I've read multiple reviews from this mag and not a one even near being negative about what ever they were reveiwing and testing. So are they really impressed w/ everything they test or I just got lucky w/ the ones I looked at .For another example my Adcom gfa555 also for the money was a great amp and so on.

They probably are negative on some (or many) things. They might just not be willing to tell you about it.

With Stereophile, something I've noticed is that when they say a (for example) $600 speaker is "outstanding"---what they mean is, the $600 speaker is outstanding when compared to other $600 speakers; so you have to take it in that context. I have seen them point out some negatives, typically in the "measurements" segment.

Another "human nature" thing that people do, is to just paste the positive snippets from reviews, and not the negative.

I have read negative reviews in stereophile and the absolute sound. You need to read between the lines, since, unless it is really bad, they are not going to say it sucks.
