150 watts into either 4 or 8 ohm loads? First Guess: Current-limited. Exactly what you DON'T want.

Anyone have any reccomendations on new gear that will work? Or will I have to stay with vintage. I would like to stay with an integrated amp. I'm currently driving them with a JVC JA S22, about a mid 70s, "I think" integrated amp. It actually does a very good job, but the volume is somewhat limited at 40wpc.
The NAD C375 BEE is common ground, a friend of mine uses one to power a pair of 2B's. It's a very nice sounding integrated.

Is NAD always this slow answering E-mail. I sent them one several days ago to ask about the 375BEE and haven't gotten a response yet. Although it sounds like it's common ground and should work fine. I'm also considering a Carver TFM 25. they sell used on Ebay for about $350, alot cheaper than the $1499 NAD 375 BEE. But then again the NAD would br brand new.
"Brand new" is GROSSLY over-rated.
I'd rather have thirty-year-old American/North American/Free World (including Japanese) gear--with fresh capacitors and a "tune-up"--than brand-new Communist-sourced equipment.
I crossed NAD (and Rotel, and HK, and so many others) off my list when they stopped using Taiwanese or South Korean assembly and switched to the most hateful nation on Earth for their supply.
You just never lay off the Communist crap do you? No one really cares, this isn't Political Science 101, it's an audio site. I love my Chinese tube gear. It sounds great and I didn't over pay.

Do you oppose slavery? How do you feel about child labor? Does the employee have a right to reasonable working conditions?
You may not overpay in dollars, but you've put a lien on your soul.
Buying Chinese when there are American/North American/Free World alternatives is a mistake.
If I'm listening to a mistake, it's a damn fine mistake.

Quote for the record books, right there.
I'm pretty sure most members are aware of the fact that China exists, and they're also aware of the conditions there that were mentioned above.
This isn't the venue to persuade someone about the potential negative effects of a lien on their soul.
I had a carver 0.5t amp and yamaha cx1000u pre before (20+y.o). Enjoying the NAD much more. The Carver was sounding dull

Woaa,, I didn't mean to start a quarrell. Although I do agree that China is practiceing slavery. And I will buy from anywhere else when I can. It's sad to see a people taken such advantage of. But it's not all the Chinese governments fault. There's eniough blame to go around. Our government overly burdens busness with regulations. China has next to none. Corperate america is not satisfied to make a million. they want mega millions. I used to work for Bausch&Lomb making Ray Ban sunglasses in Maryland. Our plant ALWAYS made a very nice profit. But B&L wasn't satisified, they wanted to sell bottles of sal****er for 30bucks, AKA contact lens solution. To make a very long story short, there greed cost them the business, and it had nothing to do with China. There now made in France, and sell for double what they did 15 years ago. And no longer owned by B&L. Sorry to ramble on. I ended up buying a reciently rebuilt TFM 25 off E-bay,, Wish me luck.... Thanks for all the input
