Default Multiple Disc CD Player Advice

I am going to be , buying an Oppo 95 for my main listening, Blue Ray SACD etc.

However, this is a single disc player. I would like to have something in addition that can play multiple CD's during a party, hanging around etc...more casual listening without having to be bothered with changing a disc all the time.

    Any thoughts on this?
Recommendations on a solid multi disc player?

Yep, can't beat those 2 devices with a stick for parties. I'd encourage anyone to take a serious look at either.

I have had great luck with Sony carosel players. They are reliable, have a decent sound and are very reasonable. I found a 5 disc SACD changer for 50 bucks on ebay. Works like a charm.

If you are set on a cd changer the Sony SCD-CE595 was great for me for quite some time. Not the fastest changer, but you will have to fork out the bucks for one that is. But it sounded pretty darn good for so cheap and also played sacds. I got more than my moneys worth out of that sucker. But I replaced it with a used squeezebox classic, and have never looked back. I listen to stuff that I haven't listened to in years because it's so easy to access. So I would also highly recommend looking into a streamer such as that.

I used to use a slightly modded denon 5 disc changer which sounded quite good.

If you really want a party machine get a Sony 300 disc jukebox like this one. . Hit shuffle play and listen for days on end. It will do what you want and store your discs in one box (you can pack your cd jewel cases in an out of sight location). It won't be the last word in fidelity but it will work just fine for what you have specified.

I recently picked up an Onkyo DV-CP702 6 disc changer for around $30
It claims to be a DVD player but it is much better as a CD player from what I have found over the last few months or so of using it
It has dual Burr Brown DAC's in it which is why I picked it up for a CDP, I cant remember which ones, but it does a nice job, for me that is

Lots of options out there. But they're mostly older because fewer and fewer manufacturers are making changers these days. I've had the Sony and I still have a JVC from the late 90s that "refuses" to die (those old JVCs had some heavy duty long lasting lasers in there)..

    Good luck!

I agree that the Squeezebox is the way to go, but the best solution for a multi-changer I have seen (and still kind of want) is the Denon DCM-5000/5001. The 5000 is a 100 CD, programmable dual-transport CD/HDCD changer with crossfade capability. The 5001 units are 100 disc slaves to the 5000. The slaves are also dual-transport so there is never a delay between tracks regardless of which disc is playing next. These units cost about $1800 new and are now very hard to find, but they are very high quality. Check reviews online and you will find people comparing them favorably to players from Meridian and Linn. I've long been a fan of Denon's digital sources myself. Don't really care for much else they do, but their CD players are special IMO.
