Rt1000 vs rti100

I have a general question regarding thr RTI100 and RT1000, I currently own a set of RT3000 and RT1000 I have the opportunity to purchase a set of the RTI100 or RT1000. After reading about both I can't really seem to find much difference between the two. I have read somewhere the RTI100 have a fixed crossover where the RT1000 don't is this true? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Besides the looks I prefer the sound of the original RT1000 to the RTi series.

Basically thats correct. They crossover was tweaked to get rid of some of the original harshness of the Trilam tweeter. It was reworked and new drivers where used. They where now Blue in color vs the original flat black.

The newer models improved the overall sound quality each and every year. I thought they made very good changes.

Thank you I will try to pick them up this weekend and compare the results. Do you feel it will be a noticeable difference between the RT3000, RT1000 will it make the highs from the RTI100 throw off the rest of my system?
