    Now... here's something you won't see everyday: a late-1960s ss Onkyo receiver with built in "triamp" - designed for a matching three way speaker system, of course :-P

    Sony STR-6055. A bit battered but functional; rescued from the abyss.





    The vintage Sonys are still a bit under the radar... not the greatest ss receivers ever made... but the tuners in 'em are better than average. This particular model (early 1970s) weighs a ton.

    I saw a YAMMY CR2020 on the bay for sale. Then it disappeared. Was a decent price in NEW ENGLAND AREA..

    I don't know if these are any good or not yet, I just got home with them a few minutes ago. I bought them because of the really high efficiency. Thought I'd give them a try with the tube amp.

    Coral speakers (and drivers) ran the gamut from very fine to very meh. Here's hoping you found some of the fine ones :-)
