    Default Down Firing Sub

My sub is downfiring and sitting on carpet. Any benefits to putting something hard under it like wood or some stone product? I can't do it now as the wife is sleeping.

I don't think it's necessary to put anything under the sub. You could always try it and listen for yourself. The sub in my main system has two drivers in it. One is down-firing and the other is front-firing. Mine is also sitting on carpet.

This did wonders for my Beast its a downfiring sub HSU VT3 MK4.

It seems pricey but if I pick up another subwoofer for duals, I'm getting another one of theses well worth it IMO.

It will affect the sound of the sub, but not for the reasons you might be expecting. I prefer spikes with something heavy on top of the sub. Like a big piece of granite.
