Default RT5000p content! 12hrs, $200 gas, two microburst storms and GOAL!

Spotted these on local classifieds, sat and waited for them to disappear, as they never did I moved on them...fast!

Started the day leaving SLC at 9am, hit a massive downpour on I-15, doing 75mph and not seeing sucks! Nearly every car pulled off the side of the road, easy 1.5" standing water on the road, and a near miss by the car behind me. Thanks for swerving! Get to St. George, 4.5hrs away, another microburst storm! As we pull up it just passes, the person selling the speakers just got done chasing her trampoline and garbage cans down the street!

Fortunately the effort was worth it. Recently moved, no room for the system AND selling a bunch of other gear. Walked out with the RT5000p system in PERFECT working order (albeit one damaged speaker, more on that later) AND two Monster HTS 2600 MkII Power conditioners, a pile of interconnects, and a Marantz Blu Ray player for...Well it was a stupid screaming deal...if I can repair the RT3000p base for cheap. :p

So after 2.5hrs of checking speakers, equipment, and rummaging through is whole home full of audio gear for two theater rooms, back home, another 4.5hr drive, $175 in gas, $30 in food/snacks/supplies and I survived!

Quick pics for now, setup and listening impressions Vs the RTi setup as soon as I get that bass module fixed!

Congrats. What interconnects did you pick up? Also did you pick up both subs in the pic (to the right of the RT subs) and if so what are they

This is one review I really look forward to reading. I have been tempted to sell mine several times and would love to see what someone else thinks about how they stack up to the current offerings. Congrats...the speaker run memories are always a blast.

Enders, the interconnects were made by the installers, they're Planet Wave cables and RCA connections, look like this:

Dunno if they're good, but couldn't pass up $2/cable and has got to be better than the current ones. :p

For the subs, not sure what you're seeing, he was also selling his PSW650 with the system. I already have a PSW505 and PSW300, I don't think I need three of Polk's larger subs...or do I...it is a big room! I'll figure out which two I like most and sell the 3rd, or use it for the upstairs rig.

cincycat13, ME TOO! I really love the warm velvety sound of the RT800i compared to the RTi series, but it seems at the cost of detail and accuracy. Can't wait to give the 5000p system a go!

Oh, and I took the drivers out of the damaged bass module. The ding is only cosmetic...but the drivers are toast....big time sadface It's a shame that's the only problem...cosmetically everything is a 9/10 but that one sub module! I'm on the hunt for parts, drivers, cabinets, or even drivers that will fit to get this system to 100% Until then I'm not sure a review would be valid...
