Monitor 60 and 30: Can this be matched with CSiA4 and RTiA3?

I would like to ask the experts regarding my buying decision.
I have right now a Pair or RTiA3 and CSiA4 with an Onkyo 609 AVR.

I plan to add surrounds by either of the 2.
1. Buy a pair of Monitor 30s for the surrounds / Sitch with the center and fronts

or
2. Buy Monitor 60 for the fronts and shift the RTiA3 for the sides. maintain the center.

Since 2 of my colleagues are selling them.

My question then is if the Monitor 60 are matched with the CSiA4 and RTiA3s

The monitor series is not matched to the RTiA series, but that's not to say you can't blend them together. You may notice a difference when the sound pans across the front from the 60s to the A4. It could bug you or you could ignore it.

The best thing is to keep the series matched, if budget is the factor, then you can do it if you want.

Ok so I guess Maintaining the RTiA3 and CSiA4 for fronts and center would be better since it is from the same series. And temporarily have the Monitor 30s for the surrounds. I guess I better pass the monitor 60's instead.
What other possible surround options can I consider then later? Can the Rtia1 be ok for such use instead of the FX models (since the price is definitely much more)

I agree. Keep your front three as is, pick up a couple of M-30s. Cheapest and easiest solution. What I would do if you want to upgrade something is get a Killer SUB. Then you won't have to worry that the Rti-A3s are only bookshelves.

It doesn't matter much what you use as surrounds. But those front three should remained matched. If you want to upgrade to towers, Rti-A5s, A7s and the very best, A9s are what you should be thinking about.

Also, replacing that center with the larger A6 (that's an even more important upgrade than L/R channels because the center carries a lot of the sound in a surround soundtrack). You'd be surprised what a couple of A3s mated to the A6 and a great sub will sound like!

So SUB and, maybe, Center channel, M-30s and you're good!

Among the polk models what would be a good one? or can it be from another brand (Sub)?

Go with a Indie sub and dont be scared of the price tag. My hsu was one of my biggest upgrades

Independent sub maker. A manufacturer that specializes in subs and sells on line!

Examples: HSU Research, SVS, Epik. Take a look at the sites for these makers in the $500+ range and you'll be looking at some very capable subs!

Save up!

If you want to stay with a POLK sub, consider the 600/660 DSW-PRO (the 600 is the non-wireless, previous version and may be cheaper if you can find it, now).
