I tried to leave feedback a couple of weeks ago, and no luck. Must still be broken.

Don't know if it would do any good but, how about a feed back sticky in the for sale section?

Hello, all. It has been brought to our attention from the administrators of the forum that vBulletin no longer supports the member sales rating. Therefore, it will not ever work again until perhaps vBulletin starts to support it once again.

Pretty much. Accept it as fact.

After years of being disabled, at least we finally have the correct answer.

Thank you Tom, for following up on this for us. I've seen some members here mention they have feedback on Ebay or audiogon if someone is unsure whether to buy or sell to them. One thing is for sure, the seasoned Club Polk sellers here go above and beyond to make sure their buyers are pleased when they receive their purchases. I'm sure there have been one or two problem sellers here over the years ,but word gets around pretty fast here . Most problems get taken care via private messages instead of airing in the forums. It's always nice to hear how someone was so pleased with the packing job was , that it could survive an earthquake.

We should go back to a system like Shack began a long time ago. That was simply user managed and updated monthly. It would need a volunteer to manage it but it could be done....the problem is you would need editing ability so that's probably a moot issue.

How about a thread a mod handles and is closed to us. A thread which states members alphabetical with the sales rating. A thread which is sticky on the Flea Market. Just my idea, that's all.

    Thanks.

It would need a PM to update a new sale, and I know it would be a little pita on a mod. But a work around until there's another software program to do it.

Guys, not gonna happen. If it does? The Earth shall move. The mods ain't gonna do jack.

I hate to break it to you but reality has to hit you at some point. Do what you will, beyond that? There is nothing.

This was not a put down on the mods, if they could I'm sure they would fix it. I just figured with this new forum package maybe it got fixed and I was too ignorant to figure it out.

Nice to see that Tom's usual dislike of all that is Club Polk hasn't changed. It's nice to see some older names popping in now and then tho' since we've lost some core members over the years. That's a shame since we need all of this old blood even more now, in order to really keep the 40th year celebration in order and get back to roots and the fun of the old days.

While not perfect, I think the Member Sales Ratings are a nice thing to have and at least a rough indicator of the integrity of the individual. The main drawback for me is the number of PM's it will create for the inbox and I'm not sure I need another task here. I'll mull it over and will probably use DisneyJoe's suggestion as far as ease of use and setup.

Do you guys want to start over or keep the ratings you have now and just continue on as if nothing changed? I'd like to keep my number personally since I worked real hard to get it, as I'm sure you folks have as well.

Gee funny the one whom suggested this idea... didn't make the sales list.

I'm glad you seen some merit in this idea, I hope all in all it's a positive for you, the board and everyone involved.

If we are going to do a Mod based system, I would like to keep my sales number. While I haven't bought or sold anything in awhile, would be nice to keep the number.

Another option that no one suggested is you could just leave a comment on the users profile, for good or bad sales. Easy access and viewable by everyone. I don't know enough about VBulletin, but a separate comment section might be available under one of the tabs. The comments left should not be available for editing by the member. Just the chance to leave a response to a comment. Worth pursuing this idea? If not, no big deal. Just trying to think of ways to accomplish the same thing without too much extra work from the staff.

Mark, I wouldn't mind taking this on if you guys could get me set up with the access I'd need to manage it (ie the ability to edit the post). I've been around a while and I've been a comsistent poster during my 8 years here, so I'm pretty much always around.

I think all I'd need is for someone there to pull the member list and their sales ratings. I could start the initial post with that info and update it on a daily basis, just like what shack used to do. I may miss a day here or there, but I'm on here pretty much every day and could stay on top of it.

Whatever your current status is beside your name is, that's what it's going to be moving forward. I don't know what happened to some of your numbers and I'm not going to Sherlock Holmes a few numbers for 100 ppl. I don't even really want to do this but its for the greater good and after the bulk of it is done, it shouldn't be that difficult.

What I'd like some of you to do is STOP PM'ING ME, since I said this is just a BETA test....and asked that you NOT PM ME yet. I want to get as many folks loaded in the system first, then I'll open it up to PM's. OK?

Just give me a couple more days until I get tired of adding names.

Come on guys this is new, let's allow Mark to make it happen first. It hasn't worked in years and what # is current is current, I'm sure we all are a bit higher. But we're all positive, so it should be no biggie to anyone.

    LOL...yeah yeah.

Ok, I'm done with looking thru threads. If anyone has a batch of users to add to the baseline list, please PM me ASAP. I'll do another search tomorrow but want this launched and working by Sunday night of this week.

Any help or folks that assist me in compiling this list will be eligible for a Polk goody, mailed directly from me. So that being said, any help is appreciated.

All I need is the basic info....as seen in post #2 and batches of new names in the 20's or 30's is super sweet. EVen if they are zero(0)....no problem.
