Default Polk Audio SDA SRS 1.2 Crossover Modification Thread

I have been wanting to do one of these since I started doing this so this will be fun!

Clarity Cap ESA (Tweeter) SA (Woofer/SDA), Mundorf Resistors, GIMPOD boards, upgraded SDA inductor, NL2 SDA outs (owner has a dreadnought), upgraded binding post

    Will be fun! :)

    Why the NL2's?
Is it because your customer's dreadnought is already setup with them, or do you find them to be superior to a good set of binding posts?

NL2 fits in the old SDA connection better (its larger than the original hole) and I find the connection be far superior to binding post, IMO.

Are they tl's? Or are you going to do a TL mod?

We are not doing a TL mod - the SL2000 is going to be replaced with RDOs

For the cost of replacing the two inductors on the board and using the RDO-198's is a no brainier IMO...

The biggest concern was wait time and after talking with Polk's CS we felt it would not make a big enough difference considering we were using RDO replacements.

Just laying them out like that is a job in itself, and another fine example of why I hate you!

For those not in the know, I am just ribbing Trey, but only because I am jealous!
There, I said it, you happy?

Hmmm, SDA inductors will be here eventually - going to ship using the stock inductor for now :)

Just gotta do the SDA cables and Nl2 connection on the plate, test, pack, ship!

Do you use zip ties instead of hot glue for later replacement?

    No tl

There is a run of hot glue under each component + zip ties :)

    Thanks :)
