Default Surroundbar 4000 digital chirping sound

I hooked my newly purchased surroundbar 4000 to my LG flatscreen using the cables and wires provided wit the surroundbar. After about 10 minutes of use the sound becomes distorted by a loud, digital chirping sound. If I turn off the soundbar and turn it on again the chirping stops but then usually starts again 10 minutes later. This is the 3rd surroundbar 4000 that I have purchased (returned the other 2 for this same reason). Any ideas why this could be happening?

Hey Soul. When you say chirping, it is like a higher pitched chirp? Also do you have a computer hooked up to your system?

It is a high pitched chirping. It starts quiet and increases in volume until all the sound is distorted and then it stops completely. The system does not shut off but the sound stops.
The surroundbar is hooked up to my LG tv. There is no computer hooked to the system but I do run one through my network on my ps3.

    Thanks!

    Hello DSoul,
Welome to the forum, sorry there's a problem. It's probably best to give Polk's customer service guys a call at 1-800-377-7655 or send them an email at: polkcs@polkaudio.com
That's an unusual situation, but I'm sure they'll be able to help.
    Regards, Ken

Contacted Fred at Polk, there is a firmware compatibility issue with certain TV's (as I've noticed, because I tested on two TV's and only my Samsung UA46D6600 caused the chirping.) They have an update in the final stages of approval. He thinks it will be approved next week, Sept 17-21 2012. The downside is you need to mail the speaker bar in. Fortunately the IHS4000 is pretty light without any accessories, but undoubtedly this will put us without the speaker for at least a week.

The update is obviously free, just unfortunate it isn't user installable.
