    Default Which speakers for home theater?

    I bought a pair of Monitor30's for my TV viewing because the TV speakers were horrible. They made a world of difference. I want to complete a 5.1 system and have limited funds. I can get RTi6's and Monitor40's for the same price. Assuming I move the Monitor30's to the rear, which speaker is better for the front, the RTi6's or the Monitor40's?

    Thanks for any advice you can provide.

    no brainer, RTi6 of course for HT. did you know that RT stands for Reference Theater? I am using the RTi speakers too for HT, they're too bright for music though.

    Does that mean concert Blurays will sound bad?

    if you use it for music a lot, I'd stick with Monitor series, or move up to Lsi. My friend has monitor 70 and sure way better with music than my Rti12. just easier to listen to for hrs w/o hurting my ears.

    I have to question the associated gear if your going to state M70's sound better than RTI12's on music. Something isn't right with that scenario.

    My RTis sound fine with music as well. In theory a good concert BluRay should have the audio mixed to sound the best when used with a dedicated home theater. It's not an audio disk.

    Somewhat confused now as I do watch concert videos and do listen to music channels. Would the RTi6's be that un-listenable to for music coupled with the Monitor30's?

    RT = "Reference Theatre"
    RTi = "Reference Theatre Improved"
    RTi A = "Reference Theatre Improved" (again). M16, M16A1, M16A2. the A1 is improved over the M16. the 'A2 is improved over the A1

    My RTI4's sound good for anything I throw at them, for a bookshelf speaker, the RTI's are nice.
