    Default Integra RDA-7

I picked one of these amps up off CraigsList yesterday. Man is this thing massive even for a seven channel amp (about 24" deep and over 110 lbs). I am not sure what I was thinking. Although, it was fun carrying up a flight a stairs. It came with 7 XLR cables of various lenghts (From what little markings there are on them, they appear to be Straight Wire Level 3 and/or Level 4 cables).

I can't decide whether getting the amp was a cry for help or just a way to make up for some crazy deals I recently just missed on CL including a pair of LSi9s for $250. Right now I just have it set up in a two channel system. Needless to say, I am set as far as amps go for a while. Probably should list my Adcom GFA-5800 and Proceed AMP2 (I might have a hard time letting go of the Proceed amp, though).

Here are the pictures. For perspective, the amp is the normal component width of almost 18". I wish I had gotten better pictures, because I am not moving it to take more.

Holy crap! Awesome find! Can you imagine this thing in a proper 7.2 setup?! I CAN!

A proper 7.2 is going to have to wait until I finish my basement, but I do have plans to use 5 of the channels. I do have a few details to work out though. Like a new TV stand that can hold a 24" deep component. (Luckily, the feet will support the amp on a stand that is standard depth, but it still has to be a stand that will look decent with a component sticking 6" out the back.)

What's the weight capacity of that chair. That beast is a monster. Enjoy!

I was a little nervous for the chair, but I figured even with my feet touching the ground I still have to be putting more than 110lbs on the seat. Most of all I really did not want to put the amp on the floor, because lifting it from there was not going to be fun.

For a BAT amp though this amp is pretty light. The 6 channel vk-6200 is 200 lbs. The RDA-7 is said to be similar to the vk-6200. At $5000 for 7 channels, I guess it was the economy version with a few compromises such as the RDA-7 only has two transformers and the case must be lighter.
