    Question dswpro660 love???

Can anyone speak for this sub? Can it back up that 20hz claim?? Do they pull good double duty (music and H/T)? I'd like to hear some reviews from those that have them or have heard them!! They are very few on PA's website reviews.

I have installed one for a friend in his HT. It is definitely great for HT but the -3db rating is 25Hz, not 20Hz. I did not care for it for music--too fatiguing, which I attribute to the slot-loaded design. I think you could do better for the money, unless you happen to catch it on sale at Newegg for ~$300.

I haven't heard it, but if you CAN find it for 300ish, it would seem like a nice contender for its specs. Wireless is a big plus if that's on your list.

Great for HT. For music I'd look at the DSWmicroPro 3000.

Yeah, LOOK at the DSWmicroPRO3000, then LISTEN to the DSWPRO550wi or the DSWPRO660wi! I got rid of both my DSWmicroPRO2000 and my DSWmicroPRO3000 and picked up two of the 550wi's and haven't regretted it for one minute, for HT or music, since! Plus, I was able to put LOTS of cash back in my pocket.

You can also look at the reviews of the DSWPRO500 and 600 (in the 'Vintage and Recent' equipment listings on this site) in lieu of the those for the 550wi and 660wi. They are the same subs except that the wi models have wireless capability.

Watch for GREAT deals on the 550wi and 660wi on Newegg. They often price them at $280 and $329, respectively.

Don't forget to check Polk's Ebay store. I picked up my DSWPro440wi for $243 with free shipping. They have some of the 550's and 660's on there as well.

AGAIN, the 660wi is the EXACT SAME SUB as the DSWPRO600, except that the 660wi has wireless capability. Same goes for the 550wi and the 500. You can find reviews all over the web on both the 500 and the 600 - here on Polk's site, Amazon, Newegg, etc. The DSWPRO500 has higher ratings from users' reviews than any other Polk sub on the market.

I've heard from several people who have tried the wireless feature for the DSW wireless subs that say that their performance when used this way isn't "bad", but isn't nearly as good as when wired. I have no intention of ever using my two 550wi's in wireless mode.

snake1, Newegg often has the 660wi (NEW, with Full Warranty!) for as low as $329. Why would you pay $379 for a Refurb? They also mark the 550wi down to $279. You can go to their site and sign up for a price alert and they'll send you an email when any item you're interested in is priced below the price point you designate.

Oh! Didn't know that... Well i may be making a diff move. Its twice the $ but everyone raves about SVS subs so Im thinking about going that route. Plus they have a 1 yr trade up policy. Tempting!

One note, the dsw pro 660wi has a 400 watt continuous amp, and the older 600 has a 250 watt. I have read some on this forum say that they thought the 660wi was indeed more powerful, but unfortunately I haven't seen any measurements.

Yes I have to say that even though I have never heard these new polk subs, I personally would never buy a non ID sub, the deals and the reputation of SVS and HSU are hard to beat. If your budget is 400, I would definitely look hard at this one:http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-2.html. Even though its only a 10 in woofer, it has great reviews and measurements and I find it hardto believe that the polk would sound any better and have much if any more output.
