Default Mullard Tube (Valve) Making Video

    Check this site out:

    http://www.mullardtubes.com/Video.aspx

Wicked video on the making of Mullard valves (tubes).

It is amazing how automated it was back in the 40's and 50's.

    Enjoy.

Cool video. I wonder how the process varies with modern day technology?

Some of the Mullard tooling went to Japan (Matshu****a - Panasonic). Their tubes were almost indentical to Mullards because they used the Mullard Tooling. I assume that the newer companies are still using the old tooling in Eastern Europe and Russia. The quality of the tubes is not as good because of the poorer quality of the products being used to produce the tubes.

I finally got a chance to watch this video and it was really cool. I thought it was really interesting how something that was going to lead to the digital revolution was doing some many advanced mechanical automation using just cams. Great stuff thanks for posting.
