Vist our Online StoreI remember Stereo Review did an article about the flying saucer on the original cover art being airbrushed off of the 30th anniversary CD version.
You guys do know that this album is on SHM-SACD, right?
I had never heard this either but ordered from Amazon after reading this thread. Just got done listening to it and have to admit it is pretty darn good. I got the remastered/enhanced CD for $5.99 that had 3 live tracks and the sound quality is pretty nice as well. Great recommendation.

I was looking through some boxes while researching a lecture on local history I gave last week and found this photo I took of the Wishbone Ash concert I saw in either 1974 or 1975. You can see the flying "V" to the left. Just scanned it. Couldn't believe I still had it. Ironically, I just met someone sitting next to me at the Dweezil Zappa show Saturday night who also saw Wishbone Ash about this same time, and we both agreed it was a "top 5" show for many years.

Listening to it on YouTube, I LOVE it!! Never heard of them before though
Well. I better not mention Captain Beyond!

And don't even think of mentioning Captain Beefheart, for example Ice Cream For Crow:

Or the immortal Frank Zappa playing scorching guitar on Jeff Simmons' 1970 Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up........You could order this on the compilation album "Zapped" for $1.00 I think from the inner liner of a Warner Brothers album in about 1970.

Argus was easily Wishbone's high water mark. First group I can recall to feature two lead guitarists.
I won tickets from WMMS to see them at Cleveland's Palace Theater in winter '73/ '74.... well sorta... I actually won tickets to see Iggy and the Stooges, but could not make that show so I called back so the station could put them back up for grabs.
The lady I spoke to at the station told me "no one every did what I was doing" and offered me the Wishbone Ash tix... She also threw in two promotional copies of "Live Dates". They put on a great show... and I still have the double LP.
Some guy from New Jersey named Bruce "Something" was the opening act. Really good band, but his enunciation was awful. Only words I could understand in his entire set were "Kitty's back in town". I wonder whatever happened to him?
More later,
Tour...

Ironicly enough I was in Fry's today and they had this in the $5.00 section. I remembered this thread and decided to pick it up. I like it. It's kind of got a early Yes/King Crissom vibe but rocks out more. With the dual lead guitars some of it kind of reminds me of some Marshall Tucker or Outlaws. It's a cool album. Thanks for the thread, without it I would have totally overlooked this CD today.
Thanks JSTAS, I have 2 of their CDs now.
