    Default Lsim

For those of you who have seen the LSIM in mahogany and cherry which one did you prefer?
For modest listening levels is there much of a difference between the 705 and the 707?

IMO the cherry lsim's look much better. Also my favorite of the bunch is the 705's, it's a more balanced speaker over the bottom heavy 707's.

Can the polk lsiM series compete with higher end brands like B&w KEF or monitor audio etc. at the same price level? Like the lisM 705 ($1500 I think) vs. KEF Q700?

It's been my experience that the LSiMs most certainly can compete with these. They are not lacking on build or sound quality in the least bit compared to the others. It's really just a matter of personal preference.

Just because they might sell speakers that cost more than Polk that makes them a higher end brand?

    Hi F1,
I really cannot fault SS1988 as there are hardly any write up on Polk Audio anywhere. There are so much talk about B&Ws, KEfs and the naughts in the other forums and also reviews by many in the industry, but Polk is hardly mentioned. Of course it does not make them a "better" brand or "higher end" stuff, but for someone new, it certainly looks like it.
I myself was scouting through all the reviews to look for information on LSi M before I purchased mine, but could hardly see any reviews. I purchased based on my faith on Polk and the recommendations from this forum.
Main: Accuphase E406 with Marantz CD6004 driving Polk LSi M705
    Bedroom: Bose Wave
Study: Marantz KI PM Pearl Lite with PC driving Polk RTi A1 and DSW Pro 440
