Great price there! I'd jump on that myself if I had some extra coin and could justify it to the wife?

I've been thinking about it for some time and this makes it too good of a deal to pass up.
    I pulled the trigger.
Now I have to get rid of the unopened PSW505 in the basement which I never got around to hooking up because my wife wants me to build something before I can put it in the living room. The legend is small enough I can just swap it out.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Dang!

I did notice that the Legend has dual side firing drivers....any speculations how this would work in a layout where one side would be 'firing' into a cabinet or wall?

Or does the Legend demand/require space on both sides?

Good question. I spoke with Chad at Epik on this very same question, because had I gone with the Legend I would have had 2 or 3 inches of clearance from a door with glass in it. He said there shouldn't be any issues at all.

No different from a sub with a down firing driver and only being a couple of inches from the floor, let'er rip.

The Legend has been on my list for a while because of it's price:performance ratio. Though this deal was really good, I decided to pull the trigger on the Outlaw Audio cyber special instead. I ordered the LFM-1 EX for $599 with free shipping. It's my first real sub (currently using a sony sa-w3000) so I'm really looking forward to hearing it.

Hmmm - in my layout, one side of one subwoofer would be 'firing' into the cabinet I have my TT on, then the other would be 'firing' into the side wall.

Seems like alot of energy would be 'wasted' and cause vibrations on my TT stand.

Valid concern. I have an Emprire, two actually. But when I had just one, I had built my own gear cabinet and made a space for my sub. When I posted a picture of it on this forum, I got a bunch of feedback stating the sub needed to breath and the vibration would not be good for the other components.

I've sinced moved my sub out of the cabinet, but, not due to excessive vibration. I did an experiment by placing a glass of water on the shelf right above my sub. I couldn't get the water to move much less ripple until I did the following; put in the bluray Tron Legacy, cranked the sub gain to 50% and put the sub level to max in the AVR, then I got some ripple.

Normal listening in my H.T. is gain set at 25-30% and -2 in the AVR. No detected vibration at that setting.

As far as your Legend goes, ymmv

What do you want to know?

Just for fun, I turned my subs up to full gain and in my 26' deep room, I was knocking stuff off the back walls. My oldest daughter loved bringing her teenage friends over to "check" the system. I'd put in Tron Legacy and bump everything up. One of her friends said, "My voice sounds funny".

My wife had the DVD called "The Inn", in one scene the "presence" was in the room and the movie used low frequency to let you know it was there, and my wooden slats on my window coverings were rattling like crazy, I had to pause the movie to make sure it wasn't a low flying military aircraft that usually goes by, my wife is like, what the heck is that???? Sure enough, it was the empire.

My room is 26 x 15.5 and I only use a fraction of the power and get plenty of chest pounding bass. The Epik Empire, what else do you want to know about it?
