I'm firmly planted a few years behind the gaming curve. Way, way cheaper, and as long as I stay a constant 2-3 years behind the curve, it's all new to me. :)

Eh, to entrenched in PC gaming to be concerned about any new console.

Hmm... the $350 price point could be tempting, though...

Looking forward to seeing more info released this Summer on the specs. of these new systems. One thing that would be a HUGE selling point for the Sony system would be to offer a controller setup(bigger) like that, that the Xbox 360 uses. So____ much better than the ittie bittie controller that comes with the PS3. I guess they fit your hands fine if you're a teenager, lol.

The same games on the PlayStation 3, meanwhile, come on a single disc, taking advantage of the format's increased capacity. That's something that Microsoft is reportedly keen to duplicate with its Xbox 720 - although the site further claims that the Xbox 720 will be unable to play Blu-ray films, restricting the use of the drive to games as Microsoft looks to further push its Xbox Video streaming and download service instead.

Not bad... for a console. Kind of surprised at the slower speed of the CPU (current Xbox is 3.2GHz), but I guess 8 cores is supposed to make up for that.

You know the drill. They're going to wait a few months after launch and release a remote control that will unlock BD playback capabilities and charge you $50 for it. This is Microsoft we're talking about.

XBL is a paid subscription. However have you ever used the PS3 or Wii online service. Its terrible. XBL is very smooth and it WORKS. Thats why they make you pay for it, to keep it working. ( or I have been brainwashed, I am a Elite XBL member. )

The next Xbox will be awesome, no its not going to be as powerful as a PC but you need to take it for what it is, cheap and accessible.

While I agree with you about XBL being very smooth and works..
The PS3 online is NOT terrible at all its actually amazing because it is free..
XBL will give you a better online experience no doubt and it should it costs $$ every month.
PS3 online is free and works perfectly for what it does, I am online all the time using my PS3 and never have any online issues..

Thanks for the heads up info Tommy, would be great if it prices at $350.00. Looks like we'll hear something on the PS4K (how sweet would that be if the games were 4K,lol) on Feb.20th around 6PM.

See, I'm just the opposite. The dual shock is the most uncomfortable controller for long-time use in the history of gaming, and we've just accepted it because we grew used to it. I was really hoping that Sony would lend a little more bulk to the new controller to make it fit better in the average person's hand. That said, this controller does seem to be a LITTLE bigger than the standard dual shock, so MAYBE it will be more ergonomic. Guess I'll know when I get my hands on one. Either way, I'm disappointed that they haven't rethought that design for people who don't have tiny Asian hands.
