Picked up a 65VT50 3 weeks ago. Love the single sheet of glass design. Looks really slick :) Did the 150+ hrs of break in with color slides and calibrated using D-Nice's settings.
This was my first plasma. I've had 2 LCDs prior. I can't believe how natural, smooth, and realistic the colors are compared to LCDs. In a completely dark room, blurays look absolutely stunning.
I have three windows surrounding the plasma so I was worried that the room would be too bright for the plasma during the day, but it's not bad at all and completely watchable.
Ordered Saturday, received today. Pretty quick, especially considering Monday was a holiday.
Wow.
This is the best screen I've owned. It was between the 55" VT50 and the 60"GT50. For a while, those sets cost about the same (1800ish) so I thought I'd go with the bigger one, but now that you can get a 55" VT for 1500ish, I went that way instead to save 300 bucks and get a few extra features.
I'm running D'nice's Panel Prep Slides now. (I put in his settings straight outta the box just to check it out real quick, and it was a huge improvement over the stock settings already, so things should just get better after 100 hours of panel prep.
The "vieratools" features on this set are real nice and easy to use, plus super quick.
I'm impressed.
edit: looks like the set is down to 1515 now.

Awesome! I'm going to research into these models and hopefully make a decision within a couple of weeks. I'm lost, what are d'nice's settings? Or panel prep slides?

This almost seems to have turned into a panny discussion. On that note, does anyone know where I can get replacement 3d glasses? Or a cheap place to purchase them?
Thanks

Seriously. I was blown away. I am not going to touch any of his color or gamma settings, as I would need serious calibration equipment to get any better. The only tweaks I'm making are to brightness and contrast... just to fit my room.
Slides are running at home as we speak.![]()
