LSIM707 Vs PSB Synchrony One

I noticed Polk is selling some refurb 707's through their ebay store for a little over $3000. Currently I own the PSB Synchrony One's (main room) and the LSIM 703 (bedroom), and am pretty happy with both. I have not heard the 707s but would imagine they are very similar to the 703s as the drivers are identical except with the two additional 5x9 woofers. For those who have experienced both does anyone prefer the 707 over the One's? Or is it more of a lateral move.

I can't answer that question, but I can give some PSB Synchrony One info. I used those PSBs for around three years in the two channel system, before upgrading to the Aerial Acoustics 7T at $10k a pair. While the Aerial are definitely better, the PSBs compete very well.

I replaced my front LSi15s with the PSBs in the multi-channel/HT since I had been using a PSB Synchrony One center for a few years. It has really improved the music listening experience in that room. Lately, I have been listening more and more to music in that room.

Bottom line for those who come across this thread. You can't go wrong with a pair of PSB Synchrony One speakers.

I think you'd have first hand experience answering this question. The 703's sound signature is identical to the 707's but with less bass. I curious as to which one you like better?

I thought it might, but I know there were a couple early reviews that were mentioning the 707s not quite hitting the mark (maybe due the difference in the cabinet or crossover?). I have never had both the Synchrony 1 and 703 hooked up to identical equipment so can't say for sure, but I find myself preferring the 703s for music. There not as neutral, balanced, or as big sounding one the PSBs but do have certain sweet spot for most kinds of music. They do tend to go a little overboad around the 50Hz range, probably because their cut off was made pretty a little too low (36Hz I think).
