    any harm in setting my avr atop my sub?
    HT/2channel:
    AVR: yamaha RX-V 765
    Fronts: polk rti4
    sub: polk psw110
    Center: CS13
    surrounds: sony bookshelf(soon to be Def-Tech ProMonitor 800)
    TV: samsung 40
    The real 2 Channel(work in progress):
    Receiver:HK 3490
    Subs:2x Polk PSW 505
    Speakers: YTD
    most of my comments are passing on of info, im a noob, im just trying to help how i can, if im wrong or out of place to comment, dont hesitate to let me know :)

    Harm, I highly doubt it. Sound quality might suffer. Just MHO.

    Yes, potentially all of the shaking of the sub could loosen connections within the ARV. If you can find or build a small table with 4 legs to fit over the sub you could then place the AVR just above the sub. Report back with your new set-up and PHOTOS...we like pictures

    the tv is on top of a HTIB "sub"woofer to see it over the csi3, and that is a usb powered fan on top of the AVR to help airflow in that tight area

    Judging by the size of the speaker system, I don't think that we will see (or hear) any 115dB SPL train wreck movies with this system.

    But for big & loud sub-woofers, putting any component with a hard-drive on it is definitely a bad idea. And probably a bad idea for other components.
