RTI10 Tweeter - troubleshooting help

Hello, I recently noticed that the tweeter on my RTi10 (Left Front) was not working. I assumed that my tweeter was blown and ordered a replacement tweeter from Polk. However, the replacement tweeter is not working either. I should have spent a little bit more time troubleshooting the issue before ordering the replacement :(.

At this point I don't know what else to look for other than reaching out to you guys. Looking for suggestions....

BTW, the fronts are powered by Rotel RB1080.

First thing I'd check is to make sure your jumper is intact/tight on the binding posts? Or if you bi-wire, make sure the connections are secure on both sets of posts.
You can also try swapping left and right speakers, see if the problem follows the speaker or not. I know they're a tad bulky to move around, but it's easier than opening up the speaker to check if the x-over is fried...


If that's not the problem, you may have a bad component on your crossover?

It's not bi-wired and the connectors are tight on the binding posts. I switched the speakers and the problem followed the speaker. I also switched the tweeters and the replacement tweeter is working fine on the other speaker. I opened up the crossover to see if I can see anything wrong visually. Except for the brownish/blackish on this one resistor (I am guessing it's a resistor), I didn't notice anything abnormal. I don't have a multimeter, will have to get one to see if it is the issue. Assuming that is the issue, what are my options here? Unfortunately my skill level is limited to handling plug & play kinda stuff...

I don't think they've added schematics for these speakers yet, unless they are the same as another model listed? A shame, too, as these RTi10s could probably benefit from some crossover tweaking... LOL

Even if you had a multimeter, not sure what you should be looking for or where on the board the tweeter components are.
I would call Polk Customer Service at this point, I am sure they can get you going in the right direction.
