Clarity Capacitor ??

I need a value of 13.5 but Clarity does not have that value, so I was going to piggy back the 6.8's that would give me 13.6.

Well Clarity only has 2 of them and I of course need 4.

So I am thinking of using a 5.6 and a 8.2 giving me 13.8, I am very anal in wanting to keep it as close as I can, and I would rather split it down the middle. am I just being to anal and the 13.8 will be fine with the other 2 capacitors??

The 13.8 is like a 2.2% difference which I believe is well within tolerance (5%?) but I tend to be pretty anal myself.

If you were using ESA I would say what you proposed would be fine but if you are going to sink the cash into the MR might as well wait it out

I ordered everything but 2 of the 6.8's of course, and they gave me a nice discount on the order, saved me almost $400 I was really happy about that..

I might buy the 6.8's in ESA just to get by..

Who did you buy them from? I've been toying with getting MR's into the mix myself.

OH GOOD GOD Larry did a stack of cash fall out of the sky and into your lap? Last time I looked those MR's were 3 digits ea.

Yeah it's a crazy project I know but I have been wanting to do it for well over a year now. I at least have the expensive part out of the way, and my plan is still to make these crossovers point to point (no crossover board) and have them external mounted in a nice cabinet..

We will see how it turns out, it won't happen fast that's for sure..

I am.. I did order what I could till the other two capacitors get in. This also allows me to get started on the lay out as I wait.

Yeah, the cost would keep me from doing the whole board - we're talking serious coin. If I do it, I would only replace those in the tweeter circuit.

Madisound just received their stock on the MR 12 mfd's a couple days ago, and guess what? They are already out of stock. Not sure how many they receive for stock, but damn that was fast. Mine will be here tomorrow..

Extreme can be fun I'm looking forward to doing this project, and the nice thing is my speakers will not be torn down while I work on it, till the very end.
