WHere can i find a matching center for LSi15s?

I am close to pulling the trigger on a paire of LSi15s from Polk ebay. I will probably get the LSi7s for surrounds and am having trouble with a matching center. It appears the LSiC center that normally matches cant be found anywhere at the moment. I dont want to pay 900+ for a center and get the LSiM. Does anyone know or have a recommendation on what I could do to make sure it is timbre matching and a good paring for the 15s? If I can't seem to find one easily, I might just go with the A9s.

I was actually going to do a pair of LSi7s for my surrounds. Would this still work? Also, would i use just one LSi7 for a center? I didnt know or think of using 2 for my centers. Sorry, if you cant tell, I am still somewhat new to this stuff. Thanks for your quick reply.

Lsi series are 4 ohm speakers, and RTI/A series are 8 ohm speakers. Mixing these 2 series is not advisable.

I didnt plan on mixing these speakers. I apologize if the first post wasn't clear. What I am saying is if i cant find a good match for a center on the LSi15s (i dont own them yet). I am just going to get the RTiA9s and match to those speakers instead since that center CSiA6 is available. Does that help?

I,e been a little reluctant to brea up the front stage, but this may be the right time. Let me know if there is any interest

The LSi series is discontinued and Fry's wont ship them anymore so if you have one in a store local to you thats the only way your gonna get one.

That is what I plan on doing. I am going to grab one fo the LSiC's from the forum and just run with it. Is anyone looking to sell and LSiFX pair? I dont want to pay the 1000+ amazon has them for.

You need the LSiC or a LSi speaker for your center, you dont want to mix and match lines and different ohm ratings too... your doing both there ....

yes, i have learned this after a good amount of research you generally want to stick with the same line especially for timbre matching etc.

I don't care about creating the best sonic explosions, but I have read that dialogue may not be terribly clear, and that would be very important to me. (I'm 50/50 HT and music). My question is- compared to the LSIc, would the newer LSIm 704c be any clearer? or is this a non-issue?

I go an entirely different route: I'd split the signal from AVR/Pro to the amp with an RCA splitter (if using RCA instead of XLR). Alternatively, my Sunfire allows me to run an RCA into a channel and from that channel, into another channel if desired. Viola-two channels dedicated to the Center signal. In this configuration, you need an additional amplified channel to power the additional speaker. Others on this site may have even better methods and advice.

This is purely my opinion, but any speaker that excels with music, by default, will excel with HT. The inverse, I suppose, may not be true because perhaps the shrill (or flat) sound of a speaker isn't magnified during HT use.

I am in the same boat as well, there is no where local that has the center and I cant do the splitting technique that you suggest Monster Jam as I am just running a receiver currently (pre/pro is down the road) So I am really not sure what to do for the center

I had an RT5000 system which was absolutely amazing for HT. The subs, the center, everything was fantastic. BUT for 2 channel music it just didn't sound as good. I think the tweeter just didn't have the detail for music. So I upgraded to LSi system which was night and day difference. Music sounds so much better but not as good as RT5000 system for HT. Don't get me wrong the LSi does sound great for HT but not as good as RT5000.

I plan on upgrading to LSiM system. Hopefully this will trump both systems for both HT and music!

Matching the speaker impedance doesn't matter if you can power them correctly, and have an amplifier that can handle the load.

Can someone please help me find an LSiC or point in the right direction? I lost a bid on eBay some D-bag shot the price up past $440 for a used and scratched LSiC. I have PM people and no luck they don't answe back. I'm about to just get an LSi M704C and be done with it but people keep saying not to mix match ohms. Help?
