Need help adjusting amps and some advice...

Hi here's what my current setup I will be installing this weekend.

Cadence Z4000 75 X 4 RMS (Running Cadence ZX-651 / ZX-691)
Cadence Z9000 800 X 1 RMS (Running 1 Polk MOMO MM124)
Cadence Q2000 60 X 2 RMS (Running Cadence CT75)
Rockford Fosgate RFX9300 Head Unit (5V)

Here's my question, how do I adjust the settings on my Z4000 for my fronts and rears? Also need to know how to adjust settings for Q2000 for tweeters? Also I am also thinking of going with Polk MOMO MM6 components and MMC690, do you guy's think it will be a big difference in sound quality? Is it really worth it to change out money wise? Thanks for any help possible.

Okay I tried to search the web for hours now and can not find any information on the freq settings I should be adjusting the amp to. Can any just give be the basics to setup the range of freq on an amp, for my speakers, just the basics I can go from. Thanks again...

if you can provide a link to the cadence stuff, that might help; generically, the tweeters are set at a highpass of 3.5k-4kHz. The subs have a lowpass of somewhere between 65 and 100, depending on your car and how you like your music. The midranges are set to cover the rest of the band. as for power levels, the rear gains are set so that you're barely aware of the rear speakers (as they're meant just to provide rear fill). someone else can help you with specifics, as i havent heard enough systems to form an educated opinion. have fun.

You don't adjust the amp to anything regarding the amp.

What you need to do is find out what the pre-amp output voltage of your head unit is and adjust the gain settings on your amp to correspond with the input voltage which will be the same as the pre-amp output voltage.

For frequencies, you need to find out what the capable range of your speakers are and adjust each set to those frequecies. For example:

If your front speaker have an effective range of 85 Hz to 22,000 Hz then you set your high pass filter to ~85 Hz or a tad higher.

If your rear speakers have an effective range of 35 Hz to 20,000 Hz then you set a high pass filter to about 50 Hz because lower than that and you are in sub-woofer range.

If your sub has an effective range of 20 Hz - 200 Hz, you set your low-pass filter to 100 Hz or less, preferable 80 Hz.

The difference between low-pass and high-pass filters is easy. Low-pass lets only low freqencies past and filters out any high frequencies above that crossover point which in the example would be between 80-100 Hz. High-pass filters allow only high frequencies past and operate just like low-pass filters.

As far as telling you how to adjust your equipment, unless you got it all used, it should come with owners manuals. You should RTFM and that will tell you how to make the adjustments.

As far as adjusting gain:

Turn the gain all the way down then turn the volume on your head unit to 3/4 the way up. Now start turning the gain up slowly until you start to hear distortion in the music. At that point back it down a bit and there ya go!

Thats a crude way of setting the amps gain with the CD players volume control.
