That photo looks like it is internally illuminated. The room has a very organic vibe. Very Nice indeed.

It's great specs and I've seen several folks that just love it. I would buy one if I had the chance, I'm a sucker for flashy lights on equipment as I often listen in dark rooms.

Did you say Peter took that photo of your trip in Maui? Or did you buy it in Maui from one of his galleries? I love his work.

    Update:

Was on Craigslist today, and found a pair of LSi 9's that needed a home. Went to look at them and they were flawless. The owner liked them in his HT but had them mixed with 8 ohm stuff and they were underpowered with his AVR. They have now replaced my LSi 7's, and are a big upgrade for me. They sound sweet, and have very tight responsive bottom in my listening room. I have my eyes on a Yamaha MX 1000u to power them, and might make that deal too. After that I will have a lot of stuff to auction off to recover some shkarole. Need to get my post count up...

Congrats on the 9's! I've owned both the 7's and the 9's, and I like the 9's better.

So hey, if you're looking at a MX 1000u, you may be interested in an M80 I'm selling. It's not listed anywhere yet... I was going to put it on ebay tonight, but if you're interested I'll hold off. I'm in NOVA, so we could potentially meet to avoid shipping.

I used to have a MX 1000u, but I recently sold it on ebay. In my comparisons, it sounded almost identical to the M80, but you can usually get an M80 for cheaper. My 1000 on ebay went for $620 including shipping. I'd sell the M80 for less. It's in good shape and all channels and lights/meters work perfectly. Let me know.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Pics below. I did run the M80 with th 9's briefly. It was a very nice combo. The forward presentation, and serious power, of the M80 was very complimentary to the laid-back, power-hungry 9's.

The last (5) M80's sold on ebay averaged $550, including shipping. For a cash deal, I'd do 400 even. That deal goes for any other Polkies reading this, but Mikey obviously gets first dibs!

Note that one set of binding posts is loose. That channel absolutely works 100%, they just broke free of their plastic housing. Since you'd only be using (2) channels, you could just use one of the other sets anyway. The front face plate is excellent. There are some scratches on the top and along some edges, but nothing too bad.

Picked off a nice Yammy M80 from Falconcry ... can't wait to hook it up and give it a listen... I will update with pics asap.

    Question of the day...

For an LSi 9 xover mod...

    VR3 or Skininja?

    Why?

Addictive? Crack is addictive. Gambling is addictive. Alcohol is addictive. None of those come close.
If you're an audiophile, what you have goes beyond an addiction. Addicts can be cured. Audiophiles can't.

'round these parts we use VR3

The question isn't "who" as much as "what", as in, what brand/line of capacitors and resistors to use. I'm no help there, but VR3 will be.

Looks great, Michael! It looks like the "auto class A" function is on. Try it both ways to see how you like it. Also make sure it's set on "4ohms". So other than looking great, how does it sound???

Sounds great... can you switch Auto A without power down? I thought I read somewhere that some Yammies had issue with that... maybe I should RTFM...Yups set to 4 ohms... haven't really cranked it yet, but plan on it.

Tried later on A/B, and it had much tighter bass response..diggin this rig....soundstage is very expansive, bass is tight but not boomy or over powering
