Default SVS 25 or 20 or will it make a difference

I ordered my SVS 25-31PCi with the 22Hz tuning port last week. While I wait for
the backorder on parts I started thinking. I wonder if I should just pay the extra
    $50 and get the 20-38PCi.

This brings me to the low down of what I need. I want a powered
sub that will let you FEEL the action in a movie. My room is
24x14x8 1/2 with a 11 foot opening on one of the 24' walls leading
to a 11x11 room. I have the TV and sub located in the corner
of the room with the opening. Pictures are here:

My HT is 90/10 HT to music and most often the listening levels are at moderate levels.
I do like to push things from time to time but don't listen at reference levels much if at
all. Would the 20-39PCi offer me anything that the 25-31PCi with 22Hz tuning port won't
at the levels I listen to things.

    Suggestions?!

    Default It's here

Just got the 25-31PCi and all I can say is WOW. I came home and spent 10 minutes to do a quick hookup.

Only thing is my wife just had our fist child and I am not going to be able to really work on the setup like I was thinking I could do.

Setup, who gives a POOP. I got a brand new baby boy!

Congratulations on the sub and the baby boy,
As for which sub to get, I think it depends on how long you can wait and if you dont mind the taller sub. The 2 Hz difference is nothing big because the freq. response of the SVS subs is very flat. You cant go wrong either way, but the 20-39 should have greater extension due to the larger box volume. A new baby and an SVS, you're a lucky guy.

Great pic of the baby. That FAR overshadows the whole sub deal. You should be very thankful for a healthy baby and a safe delivery.

The difference between the "22-31" and the 20-39 won't be noticeable on most program material. Believe me, both will dig far deeper than what you were using before and the 22-31 will actually pound a bit better than the 20-39, but neither are slouches in that department.

Your 10 minute impression of WOW is typical.

    fgr41,
Congrats on a great looking baby and an equally great looking new subwoofer :D. Is there any other ways to purchase svs subs besides from svs directly? Ive been looking on ebay and only see one up for sale. How often do you guys see these quality subwoofers for sale for a great bargain? Im guessing since they are such nice subwoofers that they dont go for cheap and also don't get sold by their owners to often.

    Thanks,

Congrats fgr41! I truely have forgot how small a new born is. Wow my daughter was just over 7 lbs which is tiny and HBombTwo on his way.

I know you'll enjoy the sub but babies make the world go around! What a great Chrismas present to have a healthy baby and a happy Mommy!
