Good news update - my Arcam rDAC arrived and it is a cool little device. Quickly hooked it up and using the digital coax out from the Jolida, sweet sounds again! Using a Monster video cable and have a little bit nicer, specific digital coax coming soon.
This is my first DAC. I will also be able to connect my Carver CD using digital optical out (have a cable coming as well). It's the wireless version, came with rWave and rWand and I've been streaming music from both an iPod and iPhone and it sounds very nice. I believe I'll be able to connect my Apple TV (with optical out) and access the entire digital library, just haven't tried it yet. Only quirk so far, won't connect using the rWave or Wand to our Macbook and won't work with the USB wire either. I'll do some searching and sure I can figure it out.
Anyway, the music from the Jolida is sounding great again and the DAC is very versatile. I'm sold.
Thanks everyone for your assistance and advice here. I may send the Jolida back to the factory later on to have them go through it as I still use the second set of audio outputs to another system in the room and want that audio sounding as good as it can too.

Agree Mike - I've moved the Jolida to the second system in my Sig, using it's tube output as designed. It sounds great in this NAD/B&O system. I'm using my Carver carousel and a Linn Karik, both as transports in the main system, connected to the Arcam rDAC now. Time to just enjoy the music again:)
