    Hello CP,
The forum will be undergoing some routine maintenance tonight around 9:00PM EST for about three hours. Patrick asked that I let everyone know.
    Cheers, Ken

I heard it was a binding post that got jacked that or a resistor from all the rip posts coming in waves...

Just over a year ago with our second is where I really started getting into the forum. I was on for two straight days while sitting in the hospital room.

I am still having problems going to the "forums" page.
I can copy and paste the "new address" (I guess) and get to it, but if I go to the top and click on forums I get a 404 error.

I had to copy and paste the new "forums" page on my favorites (old link did not work), but still cannot click on the forums link above or I get a 404 error?

Any ideas what is going on there?

Originally I thought maybe brgman & Jesse had finally gotten me banned, but I can still go to pm's

On the error page it listed forums, "new posts".
I had to go there, then "who is online" and find someone looking at "forums", clicked on forums and copy and pasted it in my favorites page.
Crazy, but that was the only way.
Google links did not work for me, nor did my old favorite links.
I could type it into my address bar and still got the 404 error?

    Any thoughts?

    pepster,

Probably a cache issue since the IP of our server changed. Have you tried clearing your history, cache, etc?

Cleared history and cookies on both Mozilla and through "Control Panel".

Maybe my ISP has not updated yet?

I do live in Arkansas, and I know they had to hire some out of state techs just so they could spell "ISP"!
I'm pretty sure the coffee can and wire I have hooked to my computer for internet service is not the problem (I tested it with a DMM).

Oh well, I have access to everything but the "Forums" link above, still get the 404 error, and I received a pm that the reason is.......nobody likes me......... sniffle.......

    Yes. +1

Very irritiating to cut and paste something, and then see ? appear in the wrong place. This started with the upgrade a couple of years ago.

Hello, Bluefox. While I reserve myself to being incorrect in this, from what I understand, this is not an issue with vBulletin. This is an issue with the compatibility between vBulletin and Word. Point being, I don't think Patrick and the team can snap their fingers and magically make this stop happening.

Not necessarily Word, but it appears to be any formated text. For example, cut and paste from a PDF, or some other item, and ? appears. What I do is paste it into Notepad, and manually replace all the "' ' and other chars that cause the problem. It is a pain, but I really dislike the ? marks in anything I post. Whether it is fixable or not, I do not know.
