Default The time has come - Goodbye to my RTA 12's

I would post in the for sale section, but I don't have the post count...

So - I'm not going to post a "true" for sale ad...

I'll just say that my RTA's with fully upgraded crossovers and JB welded drivers will be hitting the local Detroit area Craigslist very soon. Keep an eye out.

I read through the forum rules and I dont think this violates.. but if it does - feel free to let me know..

I just would really like to see them go to a fellow Polk lover.

I don't know if it violates the rules but I think you are violating the intent of the rules which is to keep people with less than 100 posts from trying to sell their speakers to Club Polk members.

    Which I understand...

So - I can go and spend a month posting to get my count up, or I could just let folks know where to look.

I've been around a while... just didnt see the point of posting random things just to up my count.

Default Talk about missing the point

If you can't contribute to the forum and make social comments, you are really missing the point. I hope the mods delete this thread. This is a great forum with really cool members and some that really do care, so instead of circumventing the intent of the rules, why not see if you can actually become more active and then post in our For Sale section?? Just saying.

This doesn't bother me at all. When he joined, the required posts to sell was only 10. He's being up front about it and there are definitely ways to throw the ad up without naming it as your own. The intent of the rule was to prevent people from joining just to sell, which isn't the case here. Don't be so black and white.

Not be be argumentative but... if he is grandfathered in under the old 10 limit rule he is still posting something for sale in the wrong forum. I'm like you, it doesn't really bother me. I was just giving a response to his opening the door for an interpretation of the rules.

I don't think the "Vintage Monitor and Sda Speaker Deals" thread is in the right forum either but it is by far one of the most popular threads in this forum. Goes to show I'm not always in step with what everyone else thinks. If I had been Escher I would have posted in that thread and no would have said a word and ultimately he would have achieved his goal of drawing attention to his speakers being for sale.

Check my post history - all I have done while here is try and contribute - parts lists for cap upgrades and baffle dampening suggestions... and numerous answers to PM's about my RTA mods...

I hear what you are saying... and have no intent of lowering forums standards... but not every case is, as said above, black and white..

Sorry for missing that sub-forum... I should have been more careful when figuring out where to post - my bad...

Mods - please move this as appropriate... I'm all about playing fair.

I wont judge either way as I can see both sides; It is not good to fill the forums up with useless sales pitches when this is a community forum for helping each other and learning from each other. On the other hand being that we all (or at least many of us) are die hard Polk fans wouldn't we want to be able to purchase these items. Either way again, no judgement here. But along the lines of Tennman.; list them on CL, 'gon, or wherever you wish to list them, post your link in the deals thread and go on with life. At this point everyone will realize it is you but if that were done initially no one would have been the wiser. Which gets back to Tennmans comments again; due to intent of the rules that thread is in the wrong place as it can easily be used to circumvent the intent, and also basically uses us Polkies to do for others what we won't let them do themselves.

Damn politics, I bet the Pres. has his hands in all this.
