    Default Strangest Music Buys

I picked up the new Santana/McLaughlin at Montreux on blu-ray this evening at a local record store. After I left, I remembered I wanted to check out the cd of Imagine Dragons so I returned to the same store. Finding it was priced as a"2 for $20" deal, I looked around for something else to purchase with it. I looked through the blues section but nothing caught me eye, then saw "Ultimate Manilow" as a 2 for $20 partner for Imagine Dragons in the easy listening section. I thought it was a good choice, my sense of not wanting to look like a dork for buying anything Barry long since past with age. Anyway, while I waited in line with those 2 discs, I thought I was likely the only person on the planet to ever walk up to a cashier with that combination of music. Which begs the question, I'd like to hear what you think the strangest combination of music was you've ever purchased. And it's okay if you say "Umm, that other one I purchased was for the wife."

I always seem to say, I don't know, but for 53 cents I'll find out.

Bought Barry White's Greatest Hits, and it really was for the wife. When we play it I gotta say I appreciate the musicianship more now than in his day.

I can see that. I don't think I'm as "rigid" with what I listen to as I've aged.

John Schneider (aka Bo Duke of "The Dukes of Hazzard") and Donna Summer

Btw, when it was released, Barry's "Ultimate Manilow" was a top 3 album release on the Billboard album chart. So you have plenty of company....including me

    Schneider/Summer are definitely a combo I wouldn't think of!
