This is a decision you have to make. These are from the 80's and no longer supported by Sony, so no repair parts. They were supposed to be fairly good speakers in their day but I can't vouch for that as I've never even seen, let alone, heard them. Personally, I wouldn't drive across town for a set but hey, that's just me.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.
Id go get those just to hear them. What a weird looking speaker. Kind cool lookin' in a way though.
2 pairs available. with diffefrent specs though, and sized different, i can get both for 60, but i will be getting some monitor 10's and 4's while im home, as well as picking up some others i paid for already, so i think these are out of the question, unless i get a family member to give them to me as a birthday gift

Sony produced a number of square speakers, some were just for "show" others had serious engineering behind their facade. You'd need to google your model to be sure?
If that's the "engineered" Sony with all the fancy bracing and whatnot in back of the driver then they might be worth a listen. The down side? Just try to refoam or repair a SQUARE driver these days. It's almost "impossible" so if those drivers "ever" need any work, you're in a tight spot!

GOT POLK?
HT-Basement system #2: RTi-A3s, CSi-3, RTi-4s, PSW 12, Sony BDP-S1000ES, Denon AVR 2807 (Onkyo TX-SR 805 System #1 HT AVR)
Office Two Channel: LSi-7s (Nakamichi CA-5, NAD 214 [or, Adcom GFA-545], Pioneer BDP51fd, HK HD990)
Vintage Polks: Polk Monitor 5As, Monitor 10As, SDA-2Bs (Jolida JD-303, Jolida Music Van)
Shape of Polks to come: LSiM series
Flat square drivers... I'd pick them up for that price just to look at. You could always hinge the drivers and make some neat storage cabinets out of them for the man cave if they sucked too bad.
man cave? i live in a cave, lol this barracks room is tiny, im hoarding audio stuff in my dads basement

I bet the "square wave" response is terrific.
