Default Sold my first set of Polk speakers today

Yup my good old RTi70's have a new home. They are the speakers that really got me into much better sound. The guy I sold them to had owned a pair just like them before and regretted selling them so I think he'll love them the right way. Kind of sad to see them go but I still have my RTiA7's and SDA-1C's but like other things, your first always holds a special place. Got $220 for them.

You'll forget all about them once you play your RTiA7's again.

Mongo, you may want to note that you are required to have 100 posts before you are allowed to sell on Club Polk. Please feel free to read the rules at the top of most forums for further explanation.

Mongo knows what he's doing. I'm sure he checked out the Flea Market first. And then did a search for RTi70's and posted in the first appropriate thread he saw. He'll reply back with the typical "Oh, I'm new here and didn't realize I was in violation of the rules". But he knows...

Fellas- Fellas- 1st let me start by telling y'all my boss bust my ass every day and all because I never read everything. +, I was t trying to sell them. I was gonna give them away. Kidding- yeah- I was gonna sell them ( for a really good deal ) but honestly, I didn't see the requirements & violations section. When I was setting my account up I saw a message pop up about profile settings and something else but when I went to click on it just set me up and BAM!! I was in, so I figured I throw that in.

Well- my apologizes fellas. Let me ask you guys this? Can I ask questions about other models, What you guys recommend And all that jazz in this thread or would I have to go find the correct one & post in there?

Thanks for the heads up fellas

While I'm throwing question out there. Do any of you guys have any tower setups in your den around a fireplace mantel? That's why I don't have any room, I bought a new house with a little fireplace mantel and I just don't have the room. My mantel is only maybe 9" deep Which automatically took my CSI40 ( 12-3/8"D ) out of the equation. Then my buddy mounted my tv too low so it wouldnt fit on the mantel between that and my tv. It'll be my main set up 5.1 possibly 5.2 but I've got to make the wife happy at the same time. Any suggestions on how I can make my "big speakers " Look beautiful ( we all know they are no matter what)? Orrrrrrr, Should I just start looking for a new wife instead? Ha

Your Buddy mounted it close to the mantle to avoid you breaking your neck to watch TV. Typically over a fireplace is one of the worst places to mount a TV because of the height. If he used a standard bracket on the wall, you can adjust most of them, give or take a few inches, or tilt down too depending on the bracket used.

If you can adjust it slightly, look for a slim center maybe a Polk TL series or Def tech too makes some nice ones. Another option is to simply not use one, if your other speakers image pretty good you may not even notice. You simply set up the receiver by telling it "no" for center channel and all that sound gets re-routed to the fronts.

New wife is good idea but a lot to loose in the process.

You can extend the mantel with a wooden plank to fit center.
Also, get a TV mount that extends out and can change angle.
It'll be a lot easier to hang TV really high and then angle down without breaking the neck.
