    I am resisting the temptation to make awful, tasteless "tube virgin" comments...

    FWIW, my favorite tube primer is this one:

    ... and my favorite all-around source of info on vacuum tube devices (with a focus on hifi) is Pete Millett's amazing resource at:

    For intro material, I'd suggest downloading these books (they're moderately large PDFs, and the servers are sort of... deliberate... in their download pace; but it's worth the wait!).
