I have a couple of Rti 10s matched with a Csi5 for fronts and center in my current HT set up... I am also using a pair of Fxi50s for surrounds, but my understanding is that these surrounds do not exactly timbre-match the Rti10s and Csi5 although they seem to share a similar (if not the exact same) tweeter... Please correct me if I am wrong as I do not know exactly how many internal elements (tweeters and drivers) should match for there to be a proper timbre-match. To complicate things further, I now have an opportunity to purchase a good used pair of Fxi A6's which I am only considering because I am thinking they'll be a better match for the Rti 10s and Csi 5. Am I right about this? Would the Fxi A6 pair work better with the RTI 10's in an HT setting... I could also purchase the Fxi A6's, use them as surrounds, and move the Fxi50's to the rear, and then have a 7.1 system, instead of a 5.1, even though that solution is not exactly elegant, visually speaking, because of limitations of space in my living room. Still, failing the 7.1 option, I shall consider replacing the fxi50s with the Fxi A6's if the improvement in sq would be significant
The owner of the FXi A6's is asking for $300/pr shipped. I am just not sure whether this is a good investment. Any thoughts?
