shut down pop adcom

So I purchased the adcomgfa5805 and it sounds great. Its hooked to the 12v trigger on my Denon 4310ci the problem I'm having is that when I turn of the denon I get a pop sound out of the tweeters.

My 555s give a mild thump when they shut down but nothing that I find concerning. Don't know much about the 5805 though.

IMO the pop is from the Denon and Adcom shutting off at the same time. The Adcom amp has no output relay, so any signal at the input will continue to be amplified after power-down until the power supply caps discharge. Best practice is to always power down the amp first, then the preamp, so that turn-off noises in the preamp are not amplified by the amp. That is not happening with your Denon trigger. Unless the pop is very loud, I would not worry about it.

My 555II has the same pop sound with my Onkyo 809 but not H/K 7550D.

My Adcom 555 dead silent on start up which is immediate, but on shut down I do get that deflating ballon sound .You just imagine those capacitors spooling down.

It's normal with a lot of Adcom equipment. I had two 535 amps, both did it.

I wonder if you could get the proper delay by using something like the Belkin PF60 that I'm using. It lets you feed 12v trigger to the unit, then assign a delay to the 12v trigger output and any switched outlet banks you assign. Just a thought.

i disconected the 12volt trigger and the pop is gone.

That's a good suggestion. Its triggering options and programmable delay is perfect for the OP's Adcom. I have a PF-60 in my HT system, and at one time used it to turn on/turn off my Phase Linear Series 2 amp, which has no power switch.
