Your 9090 you did not qualify as a 9090 or a 9090DB. The DB only series shows as four ohm stable.

I have a 9090, not a DB model. Here is an AK link that states that a 4 ohm load should be fine if your receiver (9090, 9090DB) is running properly: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...highlight=9090
I am always on the lookout for equipment, so hopefully I can find something in the 200 watt plus range soon. The Sansui was just for basic testing, although I have other receivers that are 4 ohm capable but not rated as high in their output wattage.

I ran a 9090db on 4ohm ba400's for quite a while and never had a problem. I imagine if I pushed it to half volume for several hours there might've been a problem. But at sane volumes there was never an issue.
