sub question....

ok. i decided to stick with the psw10 and just bought another one last night. It sounds freaking awesome. But do i need to go into setup and change anything? I already changed the original one to 80hz and the other touch ups you and other forums suggested......do i need to just leave the new one hooked up and it will pick up on the setup or do i need to go into the menu and do something for the new sub.....or easy as plug it in? thx.

Your AVR will recognize 2 or more subs as 1. Most AVRs with 2 sub outs split the single sub out signal internally, just as you would with a "Y" splitter. From what I've read, only the newest Audessy program will cal subs independantly, make individual adjustments, and then re-cal them for the rest of the speakers.

ok thx. Also the sub from my onkyo 5400 htib i put in the other room with my sony 8500 amp along with some floor speakers it sounds great......my question is this though...the old onkyo sub which is also a 120watt like the new onkyo but is also about 5-7 years old. I want to plug it in in that same room along with the new onkyo sub....in other words i want to subs in that room?

what do you all think? advice? thx.

Check the impedance on that HTIB sub. A lot of them use things like 3 ohm speakers, and your AVR may hate them. As in running too hot, and possible smoking itself, the sub, and/or other speakers.

Speakers can operate different impedance....typical home speakers are 4ohm and 8ohm but there are 4-16ohm speakers and some will dip into less than a 2ohm load and your receiver/ amp must be capable to handle the load

Should be a sticker/tag on the back of the speaker. The number followed by the spide down horse shoe is the impedance. If all the speakers were bought as a box set, they all match impedance wise.

well they are both part of a htib. i just bought one a few months ago and the other years ago.

They're not likely to be labelled directly on the speaker. Your best bet would be to look here: http://www.intl.onkyo.com/downloads/...ex_leaflet.pdf

According to the specs, they're 6 ohm, so you will probably be fine.
