About the only thing they could hide is the solder mask they used!
Not much difference in copper traces, and all they have to do is order the same board.
It is marked with a model number.
That is what sux IMHO!
Everyone rips everybody else off on their design and R&D.
That said, it has been going on for 500 years.

NONE of my comments are directed at you Steve what so ever.
But my posts above shows just how it works now-a-days, and a big reason "Made in the USA" does not have the weight it once did!

i didn't take it in any way pepster. i was just bringing up a point i thought should be considered.
Polk RTA 11T ....new Xovers( Gen1 + Mundorf MOX), rewired, damped, Armacell, rings, spikes, RDO-194....
B&K Ref. 2220
Morrow, Huffman cables
AMD 965 @ 4.15 Ghz
They then make an educated guess as to the MANUFACTURING costs. R&D is R&D. Manufacturing is Manufacturing. Either can be inefficient and more expensive or efficient and money wise.
What I am saying is I wonder what the quality of parts are in an Emotiva amp vs Adcom vs Rotel etc... Just a tear down and this type of PCB is used, those types of caps and in what arrangement, resistors, diodes, MOV's etc... etc... etc... Just saying it would be interesting.
So hot it burns twice
