Default Wiring RCA's from a radio with 2 preamp outputs to a 4ch amplifier

I have installed a new deck, 4 channel amp and 4 new speakers in my truck, but I have a question about the way I
wired the RCA's. The preamp outputs are labeled "Front (red and white)" and "Rear (red and white)". My amp is labeled channel 1, 2, 3 and 4. How do I know what channel to put each RCA on?? The reason I think i have it mixed up is
because when I tune the balance and fade from the deck, the sound shifts, but still plays out of the same speakers...
I am using this kicker RCA cable: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...46-09ZI46.html
Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

I also am getting engine noise through my speakers, which I am still unsure why. Maybe a loose ground.. I will have to investigate that one a little further.

You may have better luck asking your question in the car audio section. Regarding engine noise through your speakers, it sounds like you need to install an engine noise filter. I am not a car/truck audio guy and will defer your other issues to the experts in that area.

Thanks. I will do that. I will look into a noise filter if all else fails, but I felt confident that I purchased good quality wire to bypass that particular issue.. I guess I was wrong. I am going to check a few things I did, including the ground, then purchase a noise filter if that doesn't work.

Noise pickup has no bearing on wire quality.
