Good stuff. I love tweaking my gear to try and get near that gear. Be glad to win the lotto some day and be able to buy better gear and cables, but for now I am very happy with what I have.

Are they making new tech in speakers or just trying to out due everyone else in crazy speaker box design?

If that's the future of speakers, i'm glad I bought a new set recently! haha

    Very cool link dude..
That's some very astectically pleasing gear I'm sure some of it sounds as good as the advertising depicts..
A lottery win is definitely needed for gear that looks like that..

There's a bunch of folks here that need to attend a good audio show like that.

I agree as well anyone who is serious about their sound should see an audio show..
Would someone be so kind as to see if there will be any audio shows in Toronto any time soon, as I don't know the names of shows to look for..
    Thanks You

One upgrade at a time. You'd be amazed where you can end up. The issue is (and this isn't a slam on HT) that you won't see products like that in a HT rig, which is what a large percentage of the forum focus on first. When you're constantly upgrading to the newest receiver, all you're doing is staying at the same level. Yeah, there's new technology there, but at the expense of sound quality (something's gotta give to meet the price point).

Patience and experience are what get you into items like those at the show. Find out what you want and start working for it, but you gotta hear it first to know you actually want it. It doesn't hurt to rub elbows with the company owners either.

@DSkip-- I agree. Although I like a lot of gears in this area, sometimes when I look at the $$ sign, I have to force myself to contain (honestly).. With my income, certainly I cannot effort to spend 10000 $$ on pair of speakers. But, you are absolutely right, have to be patience. If I look at myself, within a period of 18 months, I have gone from HTIB to a dedicated HT system with some well recognized speakers and amps. I will most certainly take your advise. Keep looking and read/listen and then decide.

@noonshinejohn--- I always admire your signature part in any of your comment/post. You sir have some great equipment. One day, i plan to have one of those tube amps.

I've created my system out of very limited funds. EVERYTHING in my room (except for the couch) has stemmed from poker winnings/flipping/bday and xmas money over the last two years. I also generated another $400ish to build my gaming computer in the process. I started with an RM 6750 w/ a Yamaha RX-V563, so it doesn't take long if you're diligent.

Right now I've got $1200 that I'm sitting on and will likely be up to $2k within the next week or two due to selling two items I honestly thought I'd keep. The patience comes from not jumping on every single deal you see unless you know you can flip it almost immediately or its something you've always wanted. Part of my issue is that there isn't anything that stands out to me right now as a big upgrade, so I continue to sit and wait.

I'd prob leave more confused at a place like that.. how would one know if the speakers your in front of sounds that much better from the room prior if there all using different gear? Is it the Pro/DAC/AMPs/Cables that makes them sound like that?

Ya know what i'm saying? Whats saying that our speakers couldn't be near as good with the same gear running it?

Let's put it this way.....you hear a set up at a show and you don't like the sound. You're not likely to pursue any of that gear, but when you hear something you like, you're more inclined pursue it further. Maybe there is a dealer near you, etc.

Of course, if you don't go, you'll never know what other gear can sound like.

It could, or could not. Too many variables go into the final sound you hear. We have a saying, "everything matters", in the chain. That btw also includes the room which is always different at a show or in your home. You don't have to spend a lot of coin but you do need to experiment a bit with different speakers/gear/cables/room/placement to find that sound that appeals to you the most.

Its impossible to answer questions about what is the best this or that when it comes to audio, we all hear differently, have different rooms, and most importantly have different wallets. We can offer suggestions based on personal experiences but in the end it is your own experiences that need to be expanded, in your home with your ears.
