Default Some thoughts on PBS -> John Denver Rocky Mountain High Live In Japan

It's that time again, when PBS (KTWU, Topeka) guilts us into coughing up another year's annual dues.

Thismight not be your cup of tea, but then again, you might be surprised.

In the early 70s, a friend suggested we take in a John Denver concert @ Century II, Wichita. Upon entering, we realized this was NOT your typical concert crowd. There were lots of family groups which appeared to be 3 generations. It soon became apparent that everyone knew Denver's lyrics by heart. I'm not ashamed to say I did as well.

I have attended a lot of concerts, starting with Eric Burden & The Animals, 1969, and on to our next concert, Bonnie Raitt (w/Mike Finnigan on Hammond B3) this Oct. I would have to admit that the John Denver concert ranks as the most "feel good" concert experience I've had to date.

Denver was my first concert, at the ripe old age of ten, back in 1975. Starland Vocal Band opened for him. Great show...
