    Default Plasma Tvs? ASAP

Yet another question I have for everyone. I have been looking to upgrade my tv to a bigger one and I have been looking around craigslist for one. Usually 50" + LCDs have been going for around 500+ and some plasmas have been going around the same price too. However, I found a guy who is an AV guy and he repairs and replaces tvs for his customers. He has a couple of 50" plasmas for sale.

    LG 50PC5D
    Panasonic TH50PX80U

He said he has replaced the power supply boards in both of them but he would sell me one for $225 or I could buy both of them for $375.... What are your guys thoughts?

+1 on what Assimilated stated. Some concerns for displays of that vintage might be: They'd likely be rated for 60,000 hours or thereabouts (new plasmas are generally 100,000). Though even 60,000 seems like a lot, they are 5-7 years old, so how can you be sure of their mileage? You will loose brightness over time as those hours diminish, and I'm guessing that just changing the power supply board may not rectify that, it will be the panel that ultimately fails. Also screen burn in/image retention could be an issue, the LG model more so than the Panny, so take a close look. But, if the prices are what you're looking for, maybe let your eyes be the ultimate judge. Good luck!
