I'm about to do some wiring in my HT room (basement) next month, running some dedicated 20 amp lines etc. While I have my ceiling removed, I'd like to try something I've been thinking of for some time and would appreciate anyone's input on how to accomplish this. When listening to music or a movie at volume, I tend to keep the room shut off from the rest of the house. If someone comes to the front door and rings the doorbell, well...the house is a rockin' and I can't hear them knockin'. I know enough about electricity to run the AC lines I need, but I'm not too familiar with a doorbell low voltage system. What I'd like to do is to have a small inconspicuous LED somewhere near my display so it would catch my eye when lit, and have it connected to the low voltage doorbell system (mine is a wired system). I've seen the flashers you can buy that plug into AC and remotely connect to a wireless doorbell system, but I'm not really interested in that. I'm really open to ideas, thoughts anyone?
