Default 180 gram... what is the deal?

Ok what is the deal with the new vinyl? I am seeing a lot of "New" old albums. I recently read that some of these companies are remixing when they reissue. I'm not so sure I like that. The article I read was very disturbing. Thoughts?

Would probably help if you included the article you are referencing. And the question in your post is only vaguely related to the question in your thread title.

As for the remixing...haven't seen any of that myself and I have picked up a fair amount of newly released old albums lately.

anything to make a buck. Vinyl is making a comeback of sorts and the record companies are trying to get in on it. The remix are in hopes of getting those who have it already to buy another. IMO

Ok I'll try and find that article. A friend posted it on my FB and IDK how to search for it. Not very good with that kind of stuff. What is 180 gram? I assume the weight of the record. I guess it is heavier? I suspect the same pitdogg2.
