CC promotion?

CC is running a promotion, Polk $499 up + Free subwoofer($200 value). I remember some guy mentioned in this board he could get the $200 save if he didn't want the subwoofer. I visited a couple CC stores for shopping RTi8 at San Jose, CA. The salemen refused to replace the free subwoofer with $200 off. I am wondering if anyone really got such kind of deal. Any tips ?

There are lots of confusing deals with the "free" subwoofer, at least ten different combinations. I haven't heard of the one you mentioned though.

At one point in time you could get either the $200 sub or $200 off a second purchas such as the RTi8's and say the CSi5. You buy the RTi8's and get $200 off the CSi5. Or you can use the $200 to get a better subwoofer but the second purchase must be polk stuff.

I'm not sure if this is still the case or not but you could never just get $200 off 1 set of polks that I know of.

The only encounter I have had to where $200 is taken off, is the RM 7200 system, where a sub is already in the package.

I remember folks getting the $200 off option through Crutchfield, not CC.

The way the 200 off works is if you buy the rti8's for example you can take the 200 off of the next speaker,,,,wether it be a sub or a center or any other polk speaker....

but you cant just take the 200 off of the rti8's, there has to be a 3 speaker purchase...

i work at circuit city, and if you go to one and they tell you you cant, then the just have not tried it yet...and its probably because in the past it could only be 200 off a sub.
